The River Elbe

The Elbe River is 1094 km long and almost 25 million people live in its catchment area. It shapes the landscape to the left and right of its banks. From the Krkonoše a low mountain range in the Czech Republic, through the Saxon Switzerland National Park, my hometown Dresden, the floodplain landscape, Magdeburg, Hamburg, it flows into the North Sea. Its water is murky and its stream calming.
